The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long range jet bomber which has been continually operated by the United States Air Force since the 1950s. Designed as a high altitude strategic bomber it is manned by a crew of 5, including a pilot, copilot, weapons system officer, navigator, and electronic warfare officer (a tail gunner was also part of the crew up until 1991).
