The F-35A Joint Strike Fighter is a single-seat, single-engine, all-weather, stealth multirole fighter made by an aerospace industry team lead by Lockheed Martin. This variant is designed for conventional takeoff and landing, mainly to perform ground attack and air defense missions. The first squadron was declared ready for deployment in July 2015 after intensive testing by the United States.
